Timer — free

0–60 mph, 0–100 km/h, 40–100 and more, timed from the car’s own speed sensor. With no adapter it falls back to GPS and says so, because a GPS time is a ballpark.

Cluster

Free: the Classic layout, two dials and four bars, showing any reading your car reports.

The one-off unlock adds your own layouts on the grid, the premade styles, shift bars, the G-meter and gear indicator, every face, colour and theme, and R-Cam — video from your phone with the car’s live data drawn into it, saved to Photos.

What you need

An ELM327 adapter that uses Bluetooth LE (4.0 or later). iPhones cannot connect to “Classic” Bluetooth OBD-II adapters — only Bluetooth LE ones. Wi-Fi adapters are not supported.

A car with OBD-II: most cars and light trucks sold in the US from 1996 on.
