Privacy policy
One OBDII keeps your data on your phone. We don’t run servers that receive it, and there are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.

What stays on your phone
Everything the app records is stored only on your device:
- Diagnostic results: trouble codes, readiness, freeze frames, test results and saved scan reports
- Vehicle details the app reads or you enter, including the VIN, and any shop or customer details you type into reports
- Drive logs: a record of the commands sent to your adapter and the car’s replies, used to replay drives and to diagnose problems
- Timer runs, including GPS positions taken during a run
- Your cluster layouts and settings
These files are excluded from iCloud backups, so they are not copied off the phone by the system. Deleting the app deletes them. R-Cam recordings you saved to Photos stay there until you delete them.
What leaves your phone
- Your vehicle’s VIN, sent to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s public VIN decoder (vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov) to look up the make, model and year. Nothing else is sent with it. NHTSA’s own privacy policy covers that service.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details; Apple only tells the app whether the unlock has been bought.
- Anything you choose to share — a PDF report, a recording — goes only where you send it, through the iPhone’s share sheet.
Permissions
- Bluetooth: to talk to your OBD-II adapter.
- Location: only while timing a run, and only when no adapter is connected to time it.
- Camera and microphone: for R-Cam recordings.
- Photos (add only): to save R-Cam recordings. The app does not read your library.
- Motion: for the G-meter gauge.
Each is asked for when first needed, and can be turned off in the iPhone’s Settings.
What we don’t do
We don’t collect, sell or share personal data, build profiles, show ads, or use analytics or tracking of any kind. The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
